Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC) / A*STAR Computational Resource Centre (ACRC) / National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC) LAB TOUR
Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC)
In this tour, you will visit A*STAR’s Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC), A*STAR’s Computational Resource Centre (A*CRC) and the National Supercomputing Centre Singapore (NSCC). At IHPC, we hope to enthral you with our world of modelling and simulation using our latest Large Scale Visualization Display, where you will get up-close-and-personal with our simulations from atoms and molecules to cityscapes in a three-dimensional world. We will also share how 3D visualisations can be used to provide and interpret insightful results from simulations.
A*STAR Computational Resource Centre (ACRC)
At A*CRC, you will tour the data centre and the High Performance Computing (HPC) systems operated by A*CRC. A*CRC provides HPC resources to the entire A*STAR research community. Currently A*CRC supports HPC needs of over several hundred strong user community and manages 5 HPC systems.
National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC)
The National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC) Singapore was established in 2015 and manages Singapore’s first national petascale facility with available high performance computing (HPC) resources to support science and engineering computing needs for academic, research and industry communities. Funded by its stakeholders, including Agency for Science Technology and Research (A*STAR), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National University of Singapore (NUS), and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), with substantial funding from Ministry of Trade and Industry, NSCC’s vision is to democratise access to supercomputing, and is catalytic in supporting national research and development initiatives, attracting industrial research collaborations and enhancing Singapore’s research capabilities. NSCC’s data centre is located on level 17 at Fusionopolis One (Connexis South Tower) and houses the first national petascale supercomputer in Singapore, named ASPIRE 1 which is the acronym for Advanced Supercomputer for Petascale Innovation, Research & Enterprise. At NSCC, you will get to see and find out more about this supercomputer.
